Pike’s Brewery, Oakbank

Originally Pike’s Brewery, and now Johnston’s Cordial Factory, this is an intriguing  set of buildings. It’s almost like those medieval villages that one sees sitting on French Hill tops. Here, I imagine buildings were added on as the need arose. Henry Pike emigrated from Dorset in 1878 The vents on top of the rooves  were used for drying hops. One sees similar Oast Houses in Kent, UK.
